“Could I please sit in that seat,” a man who had been standing for long politely requested.   The lady was insulted; “can’t you see my two dogs are sitting there?”  Maltese and Shi Tzu are two favorite dog breeds for companion.  You prefer tiny dog to carry around, choose Maltese. If you want a little larger but good companion dog Shih Tzu is a good pick.

Shih Tzu weighs 9-16 pounds and has height range of 8-11 inches upon maturity. Shih Tzu is playful and very good with children

Maltese, pure white dog in color weighs 4-7 pounds at maturity with 9-10 inches at the shoulder height. Maltese is cute, cuddly yet so tiny and delicate for kids rough play.  Maltese barks at strangers more.  These two dog breeds are good with cats.

The two tiny dogs demand a lot more care due to hereditary health problems.  Maltese and Shih Tzu are prone to slipped kneecaps.  You also need to groom them regularly because the dogs stay within proximity of living quarters all the time.
